FiberMedia Opens Data Center in Secaucus
Colocation and managed hosting provider FiberMedia has become the latest company to open a new data center n northern New Jersey, leasing 32,000 square feet of space in a building in Secaucus. The facility was previously occupied by TD Ameritrade. With the new site, FiberMedia expands a data center network that includes existing facilities in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Jersey City, Westchester county, Cleveland and Miami.
FiberMedia’s president and chief executive officer Michael Roark told The Record that the new NYSE Euronext data center in Mahwah “has really changed the complexion of what’s happening in northern New Jersey.” While the NYSE data center was not a primary reason for expanding to Secaucus, Roark said “it really strengthened the business case of us being there.”
