Here are some quick links from other sites on items that will be of interest to the data center and cloud computing community:
- Companies Slowly Join Cloud Computing: The New York Times examines Netflix' decision to use Amazon EC2 as indicator of enterprise interest in cloud.
- Terremark Pushes Cloud Computing: The Miami Herald covers Terremark's growth and success in enteprise and government cloud computing markets.
- CyrusOneRaises The Bar on Data Centers: The Austin Statesman does a profile on the CyrusOne data center in town, where BP is a major tenant.
- Distributed vs. Non-Distributed CDN Network: Is network architecture a meaningful differentiator in content delivery networks? Akamai certainly thinks so. Dan Rayburn says customer behavior suggests otherwise.
The local media stories in Miami and Austin are reflective of growing interest by mainstream media in data center operations. Much of this is coming through the "cloud" prism. But it's a pretty clear trend.
