American Express is Mystery NC Prospect
American Express is the mystery company considering sites in North Carolina and Iowa for a $400 million data center project, according to local media. The financial services company is negotiating incentives with Guilford County and the city of Greensboro, North Carolina, according to the News & Record. The paper says the company is also considering Des Moines, Iowa.
If American Express picks Greensboro, it would continue the momentum for North Carolina as a data center magnet. The state has traditionally had a strong data center cluster in Research Triangle, but is now seeing gains in the western portion of the state as well.
