Viridity launches EnergyCenter software.
Viridity Software announced the general availability of its EnergyCenter 
monitoring, measurement, and management software. The software will enable customers to manage power availability, discover additional hidden power, cooling and space capacity, as well as meet sustainability and ‘green’ data center goals. Steve Keilen, Vice President of Marketing at Viridity Software said EnergyCenter “uniquely provides customers with the ability to measure energy consumption down to the IT device level, model each device’s utilization and then ties it back to that specific device’s business criticality.” Features of the software include a patent-pending technology for energy measurements, utilization monitoring, power utilization trending and actionable reports. EnergyCenter software is available immediately, sold on an annual subscription basis and offered at an entry price of approximately $25,000.
Eaton secures USPS contract.
Eaton Corporation (ETN) announced 
that they have secured an Indefinite Job Order Contract from the United States Postal Service (USPS) Eastern Facilities Service Office for energy conservation projects at postal facilities in North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania and South Carolina. Some of the services Eaton will provide include energy engineering, audits and energy conservation opportunities. “As a global leader in power management, Eaton is well positioned to help large and complex organizations like the USPS become more energy efficient,” said Jerry R. Whitaker, president of Eaton’s Electrical Sector, Americas Region.”
