IBM ‘s commercial cloud computing platform for testing and development will emerge from beta in the second quarter of this year, the company said today in its latest rollout of cloud-related services.
Big Blue has offered Smart Business Development & Test service as a private cloud solution since June 2009. It will soon begin offering it in three delivery models:
IBM also outlined plans for a “partner ecosystem” to offer additional cloud management and security services to customers using IBM’s cloud computing services.

As part of that initiative, IBM has introduced new Rational Software Delivery Services for Cloud Computing v1.0, which includes a collection of Rational’s products to help clients harness the agility and flexibility of the cloud.
IBM will also launch a cloud computing resource center on IBM developerWorks, which will feature articles, videos, blogs and hands-on virtual workshops for IT professionals new to cloud or interested in developing cloud infrastructures or applications.
