I saw this in California last week at the Executive briefing center. HP has come a long way in this generation of Pod. The systems 'meet me room' is is one place separating the patch panels from the box and the cabinets. It happened to be pouring rain when I was there and if I had to ding the container vendors - I know they say they can sit outside - but I wouldn't do it. I have a bias against water getting too close to IT equipment. That said there was a lip on top of the door and no water was let it, just tracked in. I guess you could just schedule move in for a nice day and run it lights out.

In any case, I read the post above about the thing being overpriced. All I will say is it's all relative, depending on what you measure. On a per U basis, I can see the point, but on the data center equivalent of 250KW to be built is 9-12 months and ~2K per KW so you're at 500K before you get moved in. Add in a PUE and other Opex, and it's comparable in 'build' cost, but will smoke a traditional DC on operating costs day 1 and beyond. If you go high density - cha-ching!
