November 17th, 2009 By: John Rath
HP this week launched several new products for high performance computing at the SC09 conference, including servers, storage, software and network products.A new ProLiant BL2x220c G6 blade extends the HP Extreme Scale-out (ExSO) portfolio announced last June.
“The ExSO portfolio was created to meet the demanding needs of scale-out as well as high-performance computing customers that require highly efficient and powerful computing infrastructures,” said Steve Cumings, director of Marketing for the Scalable Computing and Infrastructure organization at HP.
The new BL2x200c includes two blades in the space of one and has 33% higher memory capacity. The ProLiant SL165z G6 is the first AMD processor based HP ProLiant SL server and uses the “skinless” system architecture based on a lightweight rail and tray design. The HP Cluster Platform 3000SL is a new HPC-optimized implementation of the new ProLiant SL series server.
New integration products include the Moab Adaptive Computing Suite(ACS) integration for workload management, a new 40Gbps InfiniBand switch and host channel adapters, and a large port-count 10 Gigabit Ethernet switch via integration with Mellanox, Qlogic and Voltaire interconnect solutions. HP will be at booth 1025 at the SC09supercomputing conference through November 20th.
