I am a great fan of amazon EC2, undoubtedly it has been providing the best services for cloud computing. Rackspace is also very nice and giving tough competition but I am sure amazon will come over it.

though amazon and rackspace are riding on the cloud computing phenomenon..... the real question is can small and medium businesses really afford their services... i run a small internet marketing business from india and frankly....they are not my choice.... i would rather go with a company that has solutions designed specifically to suit my scale of business ..is cost effective and can give me the kind of tech support i want without getting into hassles of hiring an it team or consultant

Amazon EC2 has really changed the cloud hosting phenomenon. But i Think with the arrival of more players the cloud services are going to be better as the entire range of cloud services will now be explored rather that specific offerings such as Amazons ec2 or Google's Apps engine.
