It's been nearly two years since Cisco Systems unveiled its Data Center 3.0 strategy, which has been rolled out in a series of announcements of the product suite now known as the Unified Computing System (UCS). At last month's Cisco Live 2009 event in San Francisco, many of the components of Cisco's strategy came together in physical form in the "Data Center of the Future," a 24-rack display showcasing Cisco's UCS technologies along with equipment from seven partners: EMC, APC, Emerson, Oracle, NetApp, Panduit and VMware.
