Dilbert’s Creator Seeks to Regain His Voice
One of the highlights of the 2007 Gartner Data Center Conference was the keynote by Scott Adams, the creator of the Dilbert comic strip. Adams discussed how his experience in Corporate America provided a wealth of material for Dilbert, and walked through a hilarious timeline of some of his favorite work. At times Adams was clearly struggling with his voice, and at the end of his talk he announced that it would be his last public speaking engagement due to a vocal condition.
Wired has an update on Adams’ lengthy struggle with a rare condition known as spasmodic dysphonia. The good news: surgery in late 2008 has helped, and Adams plans to return to the lecture circuit sometime next year.
