  • The Geography of Green Job Growth

    June 11th, 2009 : Rich Miller

Energy efficiency and “green” data centers are frequent topics here at Data Center Knowledge. A new study from the Pew Charitable Trusts presents an interesting snapshot of the clean energy economy, which Pew says grew nearly two and a half times faster than overall jobs between 1998 and 2007. The report includes a state-by-state breakdown of where the most green jobs are being created. Leading the way are California and Texas, which are also major data center markets.

“The clean energy economy is poised for explosive growth,” said Lori Grange of the Pew Center on the States. “These jobs are driving economic growth and environmental sustainability at a time when America needs both. There is a potential competitive advantage for federal and state policy leaders who act now to spur jobs, businesses and investments in the clean energy sector.”
