Data Loss, No Backups for Flight Sim Site

Here’s yet another cautionary tale about backup and disaster recovery practices: The popular Flight Simulator enthusiast site has been wiped out by hackers, who destroyed data on both the primary and backup servers. The site, which housed 13 years worth of community-generated content -including terrains, skins, and mods and support forums for vendor partners – apparently had no external backups.
