IBM: No Slowdown in Data Center Activity

There has been no slowdown in investment in data center efficiency during the economic downturn, according to Rich Lechner of IBM, who spoke with Data Center Knowledge at the recent Green:Net conference in San Francisco. Lechner, who is VP for Energy & Environment at IBM, said companies continue to pursue data center energy efficiency projects because of the return on investment. “Any opportunity to extend the life and viability of your existing assets can have substantial financial benefits, particularly in this environment,” says Lechner.
