The data center conference season is getting into full swing. DataCenterDynamics NY is tomorrow, and AFCOM's spring Data Center World starts Sunday.

The data center conference season is getting into full swing. Here are some reminders about upcoming events:

  • Tomorrow (March 4) is DataCenterDynamics New York conference and expo on Wednesday, March 4th at the Hilton Avenue of the Americas. The conference will include updates from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and Department of Energy, ASHRAE’s TC9.9 and The Green Grid focusing on new regulations, codes, standards, metrics and accreditation. See the DataCenterDynamics web site for more info.
  • AFCOM's Spring Data Center World conference begins Sunday in Las Vegas, with the bulk of the program schduled for Tuesday through Thursday. The event is at the Paris Hotel this year, and the keynote speaker is Sun Microsystems CTO Greg Papadopoulos. Note: Although travel budgets are tight these days, there are some surprising deals on airfare and hotels in Las Vegas.
  • March 24 is GigaOm's Green:Net 2009 in San Francisco, which will examine "how the tools created in the Internet, computing and IT revolutions will be crucial for fighting climate change." The agenda covers a range of topics, including cleantech and "smart grids," but includes several sessions focused on data centers. I'm moderating a panel on green data centers, and Jonathan Koomey from LBL will also be presenting.
  • Coming in April: The Uptime Institute Symposium 2009 in New York from April 13-16, and the Tier 1 Research Datacenter Transformation Summit in Herndon, Va. on April 28.
