Sun Microsystems’ consolidation into a new data center in Broomfield, Colorado [1] has gotten quite a bit of attention this week. Sun has posted a series of videos with additional information about the consolidation project and the new facility. In this video, engineers describe how Sun used a modular design approach to adapt to challenges with the new building, along with some of the decisions on energy and cooling capacity. This video runs 8 minutes and 30 seconds.
