Sears Web Site Hit By Black Friday Outage
The huge crowds for Black Friday and Cyber Monday almost always result in outages for high-profile web sites. The early casualty this year appears to be Sears.com, which is experiencing performance problems Friday morning.
There are also reports of Black Friday performance problems for Microsoft’s Live Cashback site. Keynote Systems reported that the Kohl’s Corp. and Saks Inc. web sites also struggled at times amid heavy web traffic.

Posted November 28th, 2008Sears.com is famous for outages, check the site around 1am and you’ll not be disappointed. BF 2007 was a bad time for Sears, their site was down almost 12 hours. Hopefully they’ll get their junk together and get today’s problem resolved quickly. I’m sure there are a lot of jobs on the line at SHLD.

Posted November 29th, 2008This is the second year Sears went “casters up” on black friday. They could learn a few things from their Land’s End aquired engineers who can write websites that actually work and survive heavy traffic times.
