After demonstrating Integrien's own performance management analytics solution for the iPhone at VMworld, we also believe in this platform as an "on-the-move toolbox" for IT. Our booth drew alot of visitors who were specifically interested in our mobile management solution around the iPhone. Honestly, we were a bit surprised at the overwhelming response and long discussions we had with IT admins who were excited about where we could take this solution. Pingdom's list of 12 iPhone apps is great, however, I'm sure that many of the best of these enterprise management applications won't be downloadable from the app store. For example, our solution is an application for the iPhone that connects to our analytics server. While the iPhone application displays the results of our analysis of performance data from physical and virtual infrastructures, there is no way it could do what it does as a standalone application on the iPhone. What the iPhone allows us to do is provide powerful visualizations of our analytics for an IT admin that allows them to proactively manage performance whether in or out of the office. This is huge value for the IT staff we serve.
