Twitter: Now With Uptime

Twitter's uptime performance improved dramatically in August, when it was unavailable for just 1 hour and three minutes.

It's been a rough year for downtime, and we've written about a lot of outages. The company with the most frequent outages has been Twitter, where the "fail whale" has made regular appearances.

But no more. Pingdom notes that Twitter's uptime performance improved dramatically in August, when it was unavailable for just 1 hour and three minutes. That may not be a great month for everyone, but it's an enormous improvement froim June, when the microblogging service was down for more than 11 hours.
In other uptime news, Verio and European provider Tiscali were the most reliable hosting companies in July 2008, according to Netcraft. While the results haven't been posted yet, it looks like Hurricane Electric had the best network performance in the August ratings.
