Here’s a roundup of data center news on the wires this week:
- Juniper Networks, Inc. (JNPR) has signed a five-year data center hosting agreement with IBM , which will host Juniper’s operations from its new energy-efficient data center in Boulder, Colorado. IBM will provide Juniper with a next-generation hosting environment to support its enterprise resource planning (ERP) and customer relationship management (CRM) application deployments worldwide.
- Denver colocation and managed hosting provider Data393 has completed its 10,000-square foot data center expansion . Data393 increased the amount of raised flooring to a total of approximately 30,000 square at its Denver Tech Center facility. The acquisition of Data393 by Managed Data Holdings in December 2007 gave Data393 the resources to accelerate the expansion, which added high density power and cooling, parallel redundant generator capacity and a mix of cabinet and cage colocation space.
- OpSource announced that it will use colocation and network optimization services from Internap Network Services (INAP) to power their Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) delivery solutions and European expansion. OpSource originally used Internap’s Performance IP network services as part of the global delivery of its Web operations solution. To meet rising demand from SaaS and Web 2.0 companies in Europe, OpSource has expanded in Internap’s London data center.
- Jones Lang LaSalle Inc. (JLL) has acquired the developer of Green Globes, an online interactive tool viewed as either a competitor or supplement to the U.S. heavyweight Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program.
