Video: Fire Suppression in the Data Center

What does it look like when a fire extinguishing agent goes off inside a data center. This video includes a demonstration.

What does it look like when a fire extinguishing agent goes off inside a data center? This video from Fike, a leading manufacturer of data center fire suppression products, includes a demonstration of an extinguisher system using FE-25. Many data center operators prefer gas-based fire prevention systems to sprinkler systems using water, which could damage equipment in the event of a leak. Others use water in a "pre-action" system in which water fills the sprinkler pipes only upon an alarm. FE-25 is one of several "clean agents" – electrically non-conductive gases that don’t leave a residue - approved for use National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) for use in data center fire suppression. This video runs about 5 minutes, 30 seconds.
