Logicworks Expands in Equinix Centers

Managed hosting specialist Logicworks has expanded into Equinix's NY4 Internet Business Exchange center in Secaucus, New Jersey.

Managed hosting specialist Logicworks has expanded into the Equinix NY4 Internet Business Exchange center in Secaucus, New Jersey, the company said today. The new NY4 Secaucus data center is Equinix's largest facility in the United States at 340,000 square feet.

"Equinix's facility includes the most modern design, power, cooling and security provisioning, all of which were deciding factors in our facilities expansion," said Kenneth Ziegler, president and COO of Logicworks. "Our clients require the highest level of system availability. Equinix understands facility management and capacity planning at a level we can appreciate given our experience utilizing these services."

Ziegler said Equinix's new facilities are "a natural fit with Logicworks' core mission of keeping our complex hosting clients up and running 100 percent of the time." Logicworks, which focuses on high-availability fault-tolerant systems for its clients, said it will deploy rack-mountable servers and storage arrays in Secaucus. Logicworks plans to expand into Equinix's West Coast facilities later this year.

Equinix (EQIX) gained 160 new customers during the first quarter of 2008, and now has 1,994. Equinix now has 23,500 cabinets producing revenue, or about 78 percent of all saleable cabinets, and an increase of 1,500 for the quarter.
