It is not quite related, but still interesting to note: the regional government of Upper Austria (home of the rumored Google site) now supplies Google with high resolution images for Maps and Earth. This is a confirmed deal (<a href="http://www.doris.eu/google/)" rel="nofollow">http://www.doris.eu/google/)</a> and might just be another door opener for something larger.

The rumours originated from a farmer and were also heard at a local gas station and made their way to the frontpage of the news portal of Austrian TV orf.at but without any detailed information. While the village is very small near the big town of Linz, Austrian bloggers are speculating that this step would make sense, because, there is a water powerstation nearby and also two other powerstations generating more the 300 MegaWatts in total. Now the big question: How many Racks will Google be able to install in 150 acres? How far will they come with a power consumption of 1000 watts a square foot? Anyone give a try?
Cheers
Roland
