Video: Oracle Austin Data Center Tour
Today’s video provides a look inside a data center in Austin, Texas where Oracle (ORCL) hosts its outsourcing operations. The facility is a Tier IV data center with 42,000 square feet of raised floor space, backed by an electrical infrastructure including 6,000 batteries and five 2-megawatt generators. Oracle VP of Global Information Technology Mitchell McGovern gives an overview of the facility, which features storage of 80,000 gallons of diesel fuel and 50,000 gallons of water.
The Oracle facility is one of many data centers in Austin, which has developed into a hub for corporate facilities for companies including Citigroup, HP and Lowe’s.
