Data Center Events for September
As August winds down, two industry conferences are approaching in mid-September:
Data Center World: AFCOM's fall conference will be held Sept. 16-19 at the Gaylord Texan Resort on Lake Grapevine in Dallas, not far from Dallas-Fort Worth Airport. The event features a keynote by Andrew Fanara of the EPA, who will discuss the agency's recent report to Congress and plans for EnergyStar rating programs for servers (and perhaps data center facilities as well). There's an accompanying vendor expo and plenty of networking opportunities.
DataCenterDynamics will continue its global conference series Sept. 12 with a day-long conference and expo at the Hilton Chicago. Dan Golding of Tier1 Research will be a featured speaker, along with presenters from Cisco, IBM, HP and Intel.
The 26th Gartner Data Center Conference is scheduled for Nov. 27-30 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. That's still a way off, but Gartner has launched a conference blog to preview some of the key topics and panels. Speakers include Dilbert creator Scott Adams.
