VideoBlogging A Data Center Expansion

I’m a sucker for a good video of a data center expansion. Seattle colocation provider digital.forest has been gradually adding space and equipment to its data center, and VP of Technical Operations Chuck Goolsbee has been documenting the process on the digital.forest company blog, combining video and lots of photos to give customers a first-hand look at the process.

The latest installments feature several videos of the installation of rooftop HVAC units. The first shows the crane hoisting the units into place on the roof of a four-story building, and the second provides a time-lapse overview from the digital.forest rooftop ConstructionCam, which condenses two weeks of activity into a four-minute video.
