Data Center Tours: EDS Doxford, Stargate

Several providers have posted video and photo tours offering a glimpse inside their data centers.

Electronic Data Systems (EDS) has more than 100 data centers around the world. The company has put together a 5 minute video tour of one of its advanced facilities, the EDS Doxford Park Data Center in northern England. EDS completed the second phase of the development in July 2006. The Doxford facility was built with the cabling in trays above the racks of servers, rather than below the floor.

Stargate Colocation has completed construction of its new 86,000 square foot stand-alone data center in Oak Brook, Ill., and has pictures on its company blog. The facility, which was announced in February, will have a capacity of 2,200 cabinets.
