NGDC Conference Starts Monday

The Next-Generation Data Center Conference gets underway Monday at the Moscone Center in San Francisco.

IDG's Next-Generation Data Center Conference gets underway Monday at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, where IT professionals will gather to learn about new technologies and their impact on the data center. The conference runs August 6-9, with the exhibit hall floor opening Tuesday at 10 a.m.

A key focus of the conference is virtualization, with an entire conference track dedicated to the advantages and challenges of deploying a virtual infrastructure. Attendees will hear keynotes from Werner Vogels, CTO of Amazon Web Services; Paul Strong, Distinguished Research Scientist at eBay, Inc.; Kevin Kettler, the CTO of Dell, Inc.; Ron Hovsepian, President and CEO, Novell, Inc.; Ann Livermore, Executive VP of HP.; and Dr. Mendel Rosenblum, Chief Scientist and Co-Founder, VMware.


Other highlights of the conference and exhibit floor include:

SNIA's Enterprise Information World Conference: The Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA) has co-located their annual Enterprise Information World conference with the NGDC conference program. The combination of the two makes this the most significant and comprehensive event of the year covering the future of data center architectures, management practices, infrastructure, information management and regulatory compliance.

Blade Systems Pavilion: Sponsored by Blade Systems Alliance, attendees can visit some of the industry's leading vendors of modular and blade-based computing systems and technology at the Blade Systems Pavilion. Attendees will also learn how to benefit from incorporating blade systems into an IT environment through interactive theater presentations presented by industry experts.

Grid Pavilion: At the Grid Pavilion, sponsored by the Open Grid Forum, attendees learn how to create scalable, flexible computing solutions with grid technology from the leading vendors in this rapidly growing field. Key products will be showcased in the pavilion booths, and in-depth deployment knowledge can be gained at the theater presentations running throughout the event.

HPC Showcase: Sponsored by HPC wire, the HPC Pavilion will feature leading speakers who will address end-user solutions highlighting implementations of HPC Linux Clusters.
