Rackable Starts Eco-Friendly Initiative
Rackable Systems (RACK) has created an advanced development division focused on designing “eco-friendly technologies that are significant to the future of data center computing environments,” the company said today. Rackable Systems Labs will be located in Fremont, Calif. and headed by company founder and Chief Technology Officer Giovanni Coglitore.
Rackable also announced the hiring of Tony Gaughan as Senior Vice President and Chief Products Officer. Gaughan has held senior management and operations roles at CA, Oracle Corporation (ORCL) and J.D. Edwards/PeopleSoft. Gaughan will be responsible for Rackable’s product direction, including coordination of product vision and strategy, product design and development, quality, engineering and product management.
“Tony brings two decades of product and operations leadership to Rackable Systems,” said Mark J. Barrenechea, President and CEO of Rackable Systems. “He has a proven track record of executing in high-growth markets much like our own, and we are pleased to welcome him onboard.”
