Cincinnati Bell will develop a $60 million data center facility at Vora Technology Park, according to local media reports (link via John Rath). Cincinnati Bell Technology Solutions already has moved into an existing 10,000-square-foot tier III data center on the site, and will build two 40,000-square-foot additions in phases. The end result is expected to be a 90,000-square-foot tier III or tier IV data center at a cost of $50 million to $60 million.
"That's a huge investment in one of our buildings," said Mahendra Vora, CEO of Vora Technology Park. "Frankly, that makes this project successful." Vora and partner Tim Matthews purchased the former Champion International headquarters for $6 million in 2005 after the park sat empty for four years. Sara Lee Corp. has signed on as a customer for data backup services.
