365 Main Targets Hosting, Colo Providers

365 Main Inc. today introduced SCALE 365, a national program in which says it will make improved data center real estate available at wholesale rates. The program is designed for companies that need to build or expand large footprints of modern data center space quickly, including hosting and colocation providers looking to expand.

The program offers power, cooling, connectivity and security services in customizable private rooms of 5,000 to 20,000 square feet within 365 Main's data centers. The company said SCALE 365 "also extends to the development of new, build-to-suit facilities." For hosting companies, it offers the opportunity to remarket leased space quickly at favorable margins. Inaugural customers of SCALE 365 include Global Netoptex Inc. (GNi), Internap and NET2EZ.

GNi is a San Jose, Calif.-based managed services provider who has leased more than 5,000 square feet from 365 Main's flagship data center in San Francisco and is actively expanding in 365 Main's Arizona, Los Angeles and Virginia data centers. GNi provides support services for 365 Main's data centers, and was recently named one of the 50 fastest-growing private companies in Silicon Valley by the Silicon Valley/San Jose Business Journal.

Internap, a provider of performance-based routing solutions over the Internet with a diverse client list that includes Shopping.com, Nonfat Media and Digital Fusion. Atlanta-based Internap has leased more than 20,000 square feet from 365 Main nationwide

NET2EZ, a Los Angeles, Calif.-based provider of server colocation, multi-homed IP connectivity, metro Ethernet access services and network management services. 365 Main announced separately today that NET2EZ has doubled its footprint in 365 Main's El Segundo, Calif. data center with the lease of a second 15,000-square-foot colocation room.

"SCALE 365 allows hosting and colocation providers to expand quickly and generate revenue without facing the massive capital outlays required to build their own data centers," said Chris Dolan, chief executive officer of 365 Main. "The program also allows enterprises that aren't interested in owning a corporate data center to lease all the raw space they need in a world-class facility and manage it as if it were their own, 365 days a year."

"Outsourcing our data center environment to 365 Main lets us focus on what's running on the boxes as opposed to keeping the boxes running," said Pervez Delawalla, NET2EZ chief executive officer. "That means we're spending more time on our core competencies while we grow, which means we're providing better service to our customers."

365 Main began with a single data center in San Francisco in 2003 and earlier this year expanded to Los Angeles, Phoenix and Northern Virginia. Customers include Charles Schwab, Sun Microsystems and Esurance. The company now has nearly one million square feet under management nationwide.
