Digital Realty: $881 Million in Deals in 2005-06

Digital Realty Trust’s investor presentations are routinely filed with the SEC, and can make for interesting reading about the state of the market for data centers and Internet gateways. A filing today included several interesting factoids.

1. Digital Realty has acquired $881 million worth of properties in 2005-06. It now owns 10.2 million square feet of facility space in 68 buildings in 23 markets in the U.S. and Europe.

2. Data center utilization for leased space at Equinix and Savvis has reached 64 percent in the second quarter of 2006, with an estimated revenue per square of $540. In 2002 those figures stood at 29 percent and $518.
