• FedEx May Build New Facility in Colorado

FedEx is developing plans for a new 97,000 square foot data center at a property it owns in Colorado Springs, according to the Colorado Springs Gazette. The global shipping giant recently submitted a development plan to the city planning office outlining its intent to build a three-story, 97,540-square-foot building on 28 acres in the Northgate office and business park, southwest of North Gate Road and Voyager Parkway.

In 2000, FedEx opened a three-story, 153,000-square foot building in Northgate that houses employees who design the company’s sophisticated package-tracking software. Progressive Insurance is in the process of completing a data center in the same business park.
