Citing a “reliable source familiar with the talks,” LR says that AboveNet and XO Communications are the leading canddiates to be scarfed up by Level 3. Light Reading’s anonymous source, which it describes as “a telecom industry insider who has been correct on such matters in the past,” says AboveNet is all but a done deal and that XO Communications is also a possibility.
